San Luis Obispo is consistently ranked one of the best college towns in America — and being in a brotherhood here means you never do it alone. Hikes up Bishop Peak, Thursday night Farmers' Market, beach weekends, intramurals, and a house full of guys who show up for each other.

The Military Heroes Campaign
Kappa Sigma's national philanthropy supports wounded and disabled veterans and their families. Since 2007, brothers across North America have raised more than $5 million for veterans' organizations — and Nu-Alpha does its part every year with events like the Military Heroes Boot Camp right here in SLO.

One of the oldest and largest fraternities in the world
Kappa Sigma was founded at the University of Virginia in 1869 by five friends and brothers, tracing its spiritual roots to a scholars' society at the University of Bologna in the 1400s. Today the Star and Crescent connects hundreds of thousands of living brothers — including the ones you'll meet here at Cal Poly.
