Fall 2026 IFC Recruitment
Dates are set by Cal Poly IFC and can change — confirm on the Fraternity & Sorority Life site or @calpolyifc.
Registration is required to receive a bid from any IFC fraternity.
How it works
Fraternity recruitment at Cal Poly is more structured than people expect — and that works in your favor. You'll see every house, nobody can pressure you into anything, and you only accept a bid if you want to.
Our advice? Rush more than one house. Ask hard questions — about cost, time, grades, and what new members actually do. The right chapter will give you straight answers. We will.

All fraternity recruitment runs through the Interfraternity Council. Sign up online and attend the mandatory info session before events start.
IFC Kick-Off BBQ
Every IFC chapter in one place. Grab food, make the rounds, and come find the Kappa Sigma table — this is the easiest first step.
Open events
Come to our open rush events — casual, free, and zero commitment. Meet the brothers, ask anything, and see if the vibe fits.
Invite events
If it's mutual, you'll be invited to smaller events where you get to know the brotherhood on a deeper level.
Bid day
Receive a bid, accept it, and start your journey to initiation as a new member of Nu-Alpha.

A big, genuinely diverse house — every major, every background, every kind of guy.
Grades that hold up
Chapter GPA above the all-fraternity average, with study support built into the week.
A national network
250,000+ living Kappa Sigma brothers, alumni events, and connections that outlast college.
A reason to give back
